Fish farming

Our comprehensive fish farm of a total area of 260 hectares is hidden among arable fields. All constituent processes – from fish propagation to commercial fish production – take place locally in our fish farming division.

We produce 120 tonnes of fish a year, based on the reliable foundations of our up-to-date wintering and spawn rearing system. We are proud of the fact that our system that is suitable for the initial spawn rearing, wintering and intensive catfish production in ponds, is a water-saving and environmentally friendly system, coordinated with irrigated crop production. This system has earned us a number of professional recognitions in recent years.

The share of catfish has been growing steadily besides the main species of our production structure, carp, in addition to which we produce and market grass carp, pike and perchpike on our fish farm. The necessary quantity of larvae for raising young fish fry, or young fish, is supplied by our own hatchery. With the exception of intensive catfish rearing in our ponds, our fish are fed exclusively with produce coming from Bonafarm-Bábolna Takarmány Kft., in the Bonafarm Mezőgazdaság system.
