Wine making

We have everything we need for making excellent wines: premium quality raw material, rich and fertile soil and cherished traditions.

Csányi Pincészet Zrt., the Group’s wine making member company dates back to a history of nearly 150 years, as Zsigmond Teleki also included the slopes called Kopár, Csillagvölgy and Hársos when in 1881 he set about resurrecting Europe’s vineyards. We owe it to him that our plantations are now some the most fertile pieces of land with soils rich in minerals, on some of most favourably located slopes of the Villány wine region.

About 40% of today’s nearly 400 hectares of vineyards is dedicated to the production of Cabernet varieties; Kékfrankos is produced on 14%, Merlot and Shiraz are produced on 10% each, Portugieser is produced on 7%, Pinot Noir is produced on 5%, while the remaining 14% is used for producing other grape varieties.

Our best wines are made form the lush bunches of the most delicious grapes, following Zsigmond Teleki’s traditions and using a modern processing system, maturing the wines in conventional wood and barrique casks to be safely bottled by a state-of-the-art bottling line. Our devoted efforts are motivated by our only wish: that our wines be ranked among the very best of the world.
