We believe that good meat dishes can only be cooked from premium ingredients and we spare no effort to make sure that the pork we produce is a perfect raw material for the most delicious dishes.
Our strategic partner and the strategic supplier of Pick Szeged Zrt., that is MCS Vágóhíd Zrt., the operator of the abattoir is responsible for the Group’s fresh meat production. Most of the pigs slaughtered at the abattoir in the context of our cooperation are supplied by the Bonafarm Group along with other integrated pig farms, as a result of which MCS Vágóhíd Zrt. can supply Pick Szeged Zrt. with top quality pork meeting the strictest requirements applied within the Group.
Higher value added production, with a focus on, and flexibly adapted to, market demand and requirements is taking place at the abattoir, maximising the exploitation of market opportunities. Part of the carcass meat output of the plant covers the raw material demand of meat processing plants of Pick Szeged Zrt., while the rest is sold to domestic and export trading partners, retailers and meat processing partners, in various forms of packaging.

Food products being a matter of trust, more and more of today’s increasingly conscious consumers wish to know everything about the origin of the food they eat. We are aware that our customers and consumers expect us to be able provide them with the information they need, so we also have to know the origin of our raw materials and ensure that they are of the best possible quality. The cooperation between Bonafarm Group’s pig division and the abattoir MCS Vágóhíd lead to joint development projects which enabled high value added carcass meat products – whose value and quality relied on the three pillars of fully GMO-free feeds throughout the whole lives of the animals, responsible use of antibiotics and higher animal welfare standards – to be offered through retail outlets from the end of 2018.
MCS Vágóhíd Zrt’s compliance with the above is certified by independent third parties. Accordingly, one of the key advantages of the products bearing the PICK Fresh meat logo is that they meet strict requirements and are fully traceable.
